Moroccan Eid sweets: ghriba or fekkas?

On a tray of Moroccan Eid sweets, some people reach straight for ghriba, which melts in the mouth; others want crunchy fekkas with their tea. Neither wins: the recipe changes from one home to the next. And if you're short on time, bakers in your city are close by.

Sellou or zmita: are they the same thing?

Some homes say sellou, others say zmita, and in some families each name has its own mix. There's no single answer for all of Morocco: ask the cook what she means by the name. And if you'd like it ready-made, cooks in your city are close by.

Dates with milk or walnut-stuffed dates?

Some people welcome guests with a full tray; others start with a date and a glass of milk. Walnut-stuffed dates can stay simple or dress up for the occasion. And if you'd like them ready-made, cooks in your city are close by.
