Umrah Visa for Moroccans: Vaccine, Steps and Papers

To go on Umrah from Morocco, the usual route is an Umrah visa through the Nusuk platform, most often with a licensed travel agency, because Morocco is not on Saudi Arabia's e-tourist visa list. First of all, get the meningitis vaccine at least 10 days before you arrive.

Step by step

  1. Get the meningitis vaccine

    Health centre or doctor

    It is compulsory for every pilgrim: the ACYW vaccine, at least 10 days before you arrive. Morocco is not on the lists of countries asked for the polio or yellow fever vaccine. Keep the certificate in your hand luggage, not in the suitcase.

  2. Choose a licensed travel agency

    Travel agency

    Any agency that organises trips in Morocco needs a licence from the Ministry of Tourism, and must show its licence number in the office, on its website and in its contracts (Law 11-16, Article 11). Ask for it before you pay, and ask for the offer in writing.

  3. Request the Umrah visa on Nusuk

    Nusuk Umrah platform, through the agency or an approved provider

    The Umrah visa is requested online on Nusuk (the "with visa" package) or at the Saudi embassy. The providers on the platform are approved by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. If it goes through the agency, ask for a copy of the visa as soon as it is issued.

  4. Fingerprints and printing the visa

    Visa Bio app or Saudi consulate

    Depending on your case, you may be asked to give your fingerprints in the "Visa Bio" app or to go to the consulate. You then print the visa from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

  5. Book the Umrah permit

    You book the Umrah permit in the Nusuk app. The visa allows a stay of up to 90 days, and you can move between cities. During the Hajj season, entry to Mecca is reserved for Hajj pilgrims.

How much does Umrah cost?

The price changes from one agency to another and from one season to the next. The prices shown on Nusuk are for private packages, not official fees, and no official source publishes the visa price, so we give no figure. Ask the agency for a written offer and check what it includes (visa, flight, hotel, transport).

Good questions to ask the agency

  • What exactly is included in the price, and what will you pay yourself?
  • How many nights in Mecca and how many in Medina?
  • Who is the group leader, and how do you reach them over there?
  • What happens if the date changes or the trip is cancelled?

Can I do Umrah with Saudi Arabia's e-tourist visa?

Not with a Moroccan passport. Morocco is not among the eligible countries on the official portal: the route is the Umrah visa through Nusuk or the embassy.
